SMS Text Message Communications

Wetherington Law Firm, P.C. communicates with current clients by SMS text message in connection with active legal matters. The firm’s complete SMS Call-to-Action language, opt-in process, message frequency, supported carriers, STOP and HELP keyword behavior, and SMS-specific privacy practices are set out on our SMS Policy and Terms page, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms of Service.

Key points:

  • Eligibility: SMS is available only to current clients who have an active attorney-client relationship with the firm and who have provided prior express written or electronic consent.
  • Message frequency: Frequency varies based on case activity. Typical clients receive between 1 and 10 messages per month.
  • Charges: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. The firm does not charge for SMS messages it sends.
  • Supported carriers: SMS service is available on most major U.S. mobile carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Sprint, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, and Google Fi. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • STOP and HELP: Reply STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT to any message to opt out. Reply HELP, INFO, or AIDE to receive the firm’s contact information.
  • No legal advice by SMS: SMS communication does not establish or modify an attorney-client relationship and is not a substitute for legal advice. Do not send confidential medical, financial, or identification records by SMS.
  • Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, the firm disclaims liability for delayed, undelivered, lost, or misdirected SMS messages caused by your carrier, device, signal availability, or other factors outside the firm’s reasonable control.

Modifications to Terms

Wetherington Law Firm reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time without prior notice. Changes become effective immediately upon posting to this website. We encourage you to review these terms periodically. Your continued use of the website after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

Severability
